Statement about the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in relation to the Dutch Jamboree:        (last updated: 24-4-2020)

Unfortunately, the organization team of the Dutch Jamboree 2020 and the national board of Scouting Nederland have made the decision to cancel the Dutch Jamboree.

In the Netherlands, the government has banned all events until the 1st of September. We respect this decision. For us, the health of all participants and volunteers always comes first.

Clarity, security and safety are of the utmost importance, that is why we had to make the decision to cancel the Dutch Jamboree 2020. This is a very difficult decision for both participants and volunteers.

The national board has decided that the event will not be postponed until 2021. This has also been a very difficult decision and we realize that it is a great disappointment for everyone. Many events are planned for next year and rescheduling would affect these events and the pressure on all volunteers within Scouting in the Netherlands.

On Saturday 25 July to Sunday 2 August 2020 Guides and Scouts between the ages of 11 and 15 are invited at the The Dutch Jamboree 2020. Groups from The Netherlands and other countries will gather at Scoutinglandgoed Zeewolde in The Netherlands. The Dutch Jamboree is full of big, exciting and cheerful activities that you can do in groups, but also individually. A time never to forget!

The Dutch Jamboree is a large event that has been organized three times before in The Netherlands. In 2000, 2004 and 2008 thousands of scouts came together to hold a big camp. The 2012 edition did not go through unfortunately, after which the camp was not organized for a while. In 2018, plans were made to organize a new edition, after research showed that there is a great need for a large camp in The Netherlands. At the start of 2019 the organization team was formed that will work hard in the coming year and a half to make the Dutch Jamboree 2020 a great success.

The stay at the Dutch Jamboree 2020

For each group, a piece of terrain is reserved on one of the subcamps. Each subcamp is a 'neighborhood' on the camp site of the Dutch Jamboree. Complete with facilities, a subcampstaff and of course very lovely neighbors. Your group can set up tents on the area reserved for your group. A lot of things happen at your camp site. It is of course used for sleeping, but also for relaxing and cooking. The food is of course provided for by the organization of the Dutch Jamboree.

The activities at the Dutch Jamboree 2020

The Dutch Jamboree is not only a fantastic event because of the large number of participants. The activities in which the participating groups can participate make the camp an unforgettable experience. We will tell you exactly what these activities are at a later time. There are activities that you do together with your entire subcamp, with other groups and also individually. That way you will get to know your own friends better, but also make some great new friends!
